Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Based on the available data on its physical and chemical properties, TRIQUAT Monomer (containing approximately 49.5% water as an additive for stability), is a slightly viscous liquid with a freezing point of approximately -69°C, a boiling point of around 106°C and a relative density of 1.11 at 20°C. Its vapour pressure was estimated by two calculation methods, resulting in values of 3040 and 3062 Pa at 25°C. It is considered as very soluble in water based on a water solubility of equal or higher than 530 g/L at room temperature, and to have a low potential for bioaccumulation based on an estimated logKow value of -1.98. The measured surface tension showed that it is not a surface active substance.

Besides, TRIQUAT Monomer is considered non flammable based on its chemical structure and on its flash point, which is above the upper limit set in classification and labelling criteria. Its auto-ignition temperature has been determined to be 400 °C at 1011 hPa. The absence of explosive and oxidising properties of TRIQUAT Monomer have been determined experimentally.

The dynamic viscosity was determined to be 12.8 mPa · s at 20°C. The derived kinematic viscosity (1.53E-05 m2/sec) indicates no potential aspiration hazard.
