Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Soil toxicity studies of Fatty acids, tall-oil, manganese salts are not available. In the assessment of ecotoxicological effects of Fatty acids, tall-oil, manganese salts, a read-across approach from the sub-categories manganese and fatty acids, tall-oil is applied since the soluble manganese and tallate ions released upon dissolution of Fatty acids, tall-oil, manganese salts determine its toxicity in the environment. Soil arthropods do not appear to be sensitive to manganese since the lowest endpoint, i,e. the 28-d NOEC for Folsomia candida, is above 1000 mg Mn/kg, the OECD test limit for soil toxicity tests. Data for fatty acids, tall oil also point to a low (if any) toxic potential to terrestrial arthropods.
