Description of key information

The biodegradation potential of the substance has been assessed in a CO2 evolution test according to OECD TG 301B. The results obtained showed 8% biodegradation after 28 days. The results indicate that this substance is readily biodegradable under the test conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

(Hydroxyethyl)urea was found to be readily biodegradable in a CO2 evolution test according to OECD TG 301B. Biodegradation of 88% after 28 days indicates that the test substance is completely biodegraded. No inhibition was observed in the test with reference substance and 47.62 mg/L of test substance.
