Description of key information

The key study was a determination of the aerobic degradation of the test substance in soil, based on 14-C labelling of the substance in a sandy loam soil (Speyer standard soil type 2.3).

Additional information

The substance has been shown to be rapidly degraded in the environment, including ultimate degradation of the parent compound and its metabolites. The aerobic degradation of the14C-labelled substance was determined in the key study. The DT50 and DT90 of the substance (the parent compound) were shown to be 9.7 days and 32.4 days, respectively, using Single First Order kinetics. The DT50 and DT90 of the major metabolite (identified as Metabolite II) were shown to be 3.5 days and 11.6 days, respectively, using Single First Order kinetics. Mineralisation of the substance was shown to be 70.7% in 28 days, indicating that the substance is ultimately and rapidly degraded in the environment at environmentally realistic concentrations (i.e., 0.376 mg/kg d.w in soil.).
