Details on study design: HPLC method:
EQUIPMENT
- Apparatus: Alliance Separation Module 2695 (Waters, Milford, MA, USA)
- Type, material and dimension of analytical (guard) column: Hypersil BDS-CN; 150 mm x 4.6 mm i.d., dp = 5 μm (Alltech, Deerfield, IL, USA)
- Detection system: Dual Absorbance Detector 2487 (Waters)

MOBILE PHASES
- Type: 55/45 (v/v) methanol/Milli-Q water

REFERENCE SUBSTANCES
- Identity: 2,4-DDT

DETERMINATION OF RETENTION TIMES
- Quantity of test substance introduced in the column: 10.5 mg/L of test substance was dissolved in tetrahydofuran. The solution was ultrasonicated for 15 minutes.
- Quantity of reference substances: A stock solution of the reference substance was prepared in methanol to achieve a concentration of 0.98 g/L. This solution was 100-fold diluted with 55/45 (v/v) methanol/Milli-Q water.

REPETITIONS
- Number of determinations: Reference substances and test item were injected in duplicate, blank solutions were analysed by single injection

EVALUATION
- Determination of the log Koc value: The retention time of the reference substance 2,4-DDT (log Koc = 5.63) was <10 minutes. The retention time of the test substance was >10 minutes. When compared to the reference substance the log Koc value of the test substance was determined to be >5.63 (Koc > 427000).
