Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Direct or indirect exposure of the soil is unlikely as unreacted material is primarily handled in industrial settings. Any sludge from sewage treatment plants of these plants is incinerated (see risk management measures). In line with REACH Annex IX Column 2, soil simulation testing does therefore not need to be conducted.  Further, the material has shown limited mineralisation in screening test for ready biodegradability at concentrations exceeding environmental concentrations. Further testing of biodegradation is not indicated as the biodegradation rate will likely not exceed the well established rate of hydrolysis (t1/2=5 d at 25°C). Products of hydrolysis are well characterised. Based on the hydrolysis, the product is not persistent in water and any biodegrdation rate will likely not exceed the rate of hydrolysis. As the hydrolysis rate is likely to determine the rate of elimination in the environment, any additional biodegradation data would not impact the local risk assessment and is therefore not required for the refinement of the exposure. The risk assessment demonstrates save use of the product and no risk for the soil  compartment (See section 9 of the CSR).
