Description of key information

Short term toxicity to fish:

Determination of short term toxicity of the test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS) (198404-98-7) was studied on Cyprinus carpio for 96 hours and study was performed according to the other guideline 92/69/EEC, C1 OECD 203 by performing semi static system.The test was performed at diffierent durations i.e. 24,72 and 96 hours. The LC50 and NOEC values for 96 hours is considered to be 1 mg/l and 0.2 mg/l.

Based on the LC50 value of the test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS), it was concluded that the test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS) was considered as toxic and can be consider to be classified as aquatic chronic /acute 1 category as per CLP classification criteria.

Long-term toxicity to fish:

Long term fish test was observed for the test substance in accordance to the OECD Guidelines. No. 210 , the test was conducted for 30 days in flow- through method.The effect on mortality , weight , length , post hatching time , hatching time and egg survival were observed.The LC50 value based on the mortality for 30 days was considered to be 0.14 mg/l and NOEC values based on other effects such as length,weight,post hatching time , hatching time and egg survival for 28 days was considered to be 0.55,0.55,0.104,0.225,0.225 mg/l respectively and the LOEC value for 30 days was considered to be 0.1 mg/l.

Based on the LC50 value of the test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS), it was concluded that the test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS) was considered as toxic and can be consider to be classified as aquatic chronic 1 category as per CLP classification criteria.

Determination of short term toxicity of test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS) (CAS no. 198404-98-7) was studied on aquatic invertebrate daphnia magna for 48hrs. study was performed according to the other guideline 92/69/EEC, C2 OECD 202 by performing static system.After the exposure of chemical for 48hrs, toxicity was observed. Based on the immobilization of daphnia magna due to the test chemical at duration of 96 hours, the EC50 value was considered to be 0.38 mg/l and the NOEC value was considered to be 0.15 mg/l.Based on the EC50 value of test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS), it was concluded that the test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS) was consider as toxic and can be consider to be classified as aquatic chronic /acute 1 category as per CLP classification criteria.

Long term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

The study outlines the effect of test chemical on aquatic invertebrate freshwater daphnia magna. Test was performed as per the Directive 92/69/CE, C.2. The effect of the test chemical was studied on the reproduction of the fresh water flea daphnia magna, no effect EC50 value at 24 and 48 hours were considered to be 0.69 and 0.8 mg/l respectively and the EC100 value was considered to be 1.67 mg/l  at 48 hours and the NOEC value was considered to be 0.15 mg/l at 48 hours. Based on the LC50 value of the test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS), it was concluded that the test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS) was considered as toxic and can be consider to be classified as aquatic chronic 1 category as per CLP classification criteria.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

Study was performed to determine short term toxicity and Growth Inhibition of Alga ( Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) due to the exposure of test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS) according to the other guideline 92/69/EEC, C3 OECD 201 in the static system.

Exposure of test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS) was given to Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata alga for 72 hrs and auxilary solvent used for the study was 0.01 % acetone and EC50 and NOEC value was obtained.

Based on the reduction rate of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, due to the exposure of test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS) for 72 hrs, the EC50 value was 0.53 mg/l and the NOEC was 0.24 mg/l and inhibition of growth rate of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata for 72 hours the EC50 value was 1 mg/l and the NOEC was 0.24 mg/l.

Based on the EC50 of test chemical(1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS), it was concluded that the test chemical (1-METHYL-2-(1,2,2-TRIMETHYLBICYCLO(3.1.0)-HEX-3-YLMETHYL)CYCLOPROPYL)METHANOL( MIXTURE OF DIASTEREOISOMERS)was consider as toxic and can be consider to be classified as aquatic chronic /acute 1 category as per CLP classification criteria.
