Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Nov. 18, 2013 - Jan. 3, 2014
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
Note: result is based on detection limit.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to other study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 107 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), Shake Flask Method)
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
shake-flask method to: flask method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
gas chromatography
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
> 2.11
Temp.:
21.6 °C
Remarks on result:
other: pH not reported
Details on results:
No test substance was detected in the water phase. The Log Pow was calculated from the detection limit of the water solubility and the extraction factor of 5 mL hexane / 30 mL water. This gave a concentration limit of the test substance in water as <15.1 mg/L, which was used to calculate the Pow.
Conclusions:
The log Pow of the test substance is >2.11.
Executive summary:

The water/octanol partition coefficient was determined in an OECD Guideline 107 study. The test substance was not detectable in the water phase due to its low solubility. The partition coefficient was then estimated based on the detection limit of the substance in water of 15.1 mg/L. The log Pow is >2.11.

Description of key information

Log Kow is > 2.11 at 21.6 ºC (OECD 107, shake-flask method).

Estimated Log Kow > 10 (QSAR, KOWWIN v1.68).
