Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Two well documented studies were selected from the available literature (see literature search). Both were in good agreement to within experimental error. Values were taken from the more recent study (Amireche-Ziar, 2008) which had been calculated for standard temperatures (T = 20, 25 °C) from the fitted data. Pressures for other temperatures can be easily calculated from the Antoine equation given by Ambrose (1972).

The available information is considered to be adequate for the purposes of classification and labelling and risk assessment, with no nearby regulatory cut-offs (at 50 °C the vapour pressure is significantly less than the definition for a gas). The study is very well documented, with all relevant experimental parameters addressed. The study was published in the peer reviewed literature, and is in good agreement with other workers. As a result, testing does not appear scientifically necessary based on the use of existing data and, given the above points, the criteria in Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.1.1 are considered to be met.
