Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons: High volume water jet.
Specific hazards during firefighting: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.
Special protective equipment for firefighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Further information: In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions: No special environmental precautions required.
Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Dam up. Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece).
Additional advice: Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. Suppress (knock down) gases/vapours/mists with a water spray jet.

Advice on safe handling: For personal protection see section exposure control/personal protection.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: When using do not smoke.
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Store in original container. Keep in a dry and well-ventilated place. To maintain product quality, do not store in heat or direct sunlight.
