Administrative data

First-aid measures

Remove contaminated clothing. If danger of loss of consciousness, place patient in recovery position and transport accordingly. Apply artificial respiration if necessary. First aid personnel should pay attention to their own safety.

If inhaled:

Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.

On skin contact:

Wash thoroughly with soap and water.

On contact with eyes:

In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately for at least 15 minutes with plenty of water. If irritation develops, seek medical attention.

On ingestion:

Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, seek medical attention.

Note to physician:

Treatment: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific

antidote.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

water spray, dry extinguishing media, alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide

Special protective equipment:

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information:

Collect contaminated extinguishing water separately, do not allow to reach sewage or effluent

systems. Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. Foam should be applied in

large quantities as it is broken down to some extent by the product.

Accidental release measures

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid inhalation.

Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil. Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater.

For large amounts: Pump off product.

For residues: Pick up with suitable absorbent material. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.

Handling and storage

Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas.

Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire extinguishers should be kept handy. Electrical handling equipment should be explosion-proof.

Temperature class: T3 (Autoignition temperature >200 °C).

Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed and dry; store in a cool place. Avoid all sources of ignition: heat, sparks,

open flame.

Storage class according to TRGS 510 (originally VCI, Germany): (10) Combustible liquids (as far as not classes 3).

Stability and reactivity

Corrosion to metals:

No corrosive effect on metal.

Formation of flammable gases:       

Forms no flammable gases in the presence of water.

The product is stable if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.

Peroxides: The product/the substance has not a tendency towards the formation of peroxide.

May react with oxidizing agents.

Avoid all sources of ignition: heat, sparks, open flame.

Hazardous decomposition products:

No hazardous decomposition products if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.
