Additional information

One key study is available for each of the following endpoints:

Fish

The acute toxicity of 4-methyl-3-thiosemicarbazide was evaluated with Danio rerio: LC50-96 h was estimated using measured concentrations as being equal to 20 mg/L.

Aquatic invertebrates

The acute toxicity of 4-methylthiosemicarbazide was evaluated with Daphnia magna in a study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 202 (part I) and GLP requirements. EC50-48 h was estimated using measured concentrations (geometric mean) as being equal to 3.1 mg/L.

Algae

The determination of the growth inhibition of the freshwater algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata exposed to the test item 4-methyl-3-thiosemicarbazide for a duration of 72 hours was assessed according to the OECD Guideline 201. ErC50-72h was determined as 30 mg/L

Microorganisms

No inhibition of respiration of activated sludge was observed up to 100 mg/L the highest tested concentration in an OECD 209 compliant study.
