Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Ethyl 3,5-dichloro-4-hexadecyloxycarbonyloxybenzoate (AF-366) is a non-volatile (vapour pressure < 1.6 x 10-8 Pa at 25 °C) substance, which is expected to undergo rapid, indirect photodegradation if released into the air (half-life = 16.5 hours). The substance has a low water solubility of 0.078 mg/L at 20 °C. Therefore, the target compound is not expected to occur in high concentrations in the aquatic environment and the aquatic compartment will not be the main compartment of environmental distribution for this compound. Abiotic degradation of the substance via hydrolysis at pH 7 (219 hours) is a possible route for degradation of the compound in the environment. Nevertheless, the substance is hydrolytically stable at pH 9 (half-life 47.8 days). Furthermore, the target substance is ultimately biodegradable in aerobic aquatic environments (biodegradation > 60% after 60 days). Based on the log Pow (> 9.3) and the estimated BCF/BAF values (11.5-251 and 1878 L/kg ww), AF-366 shows potential for bioaccumulation in biota. The substance shows a tendency for adsorption to solid particles in view of its log Koc value (8.4) and will therefore mainly be distributed into the soil and sediment compartments if released into the environment.
