Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
29 Aug. to 03 Sept. 2007
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Remarks:
Data comes from the description of the test substance in a study report on other physico-chemical properties. No guideline is required according to REACH TGD. The substance is adequately characterised with its purity. Therefore full validation applies.
Qualifier:
no guideline required
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Visual observation of the test item.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
Certificate from 2007-05-16
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid
Key result
Form:
liquid
Colour:
yellowish, clear
Substance type:
organic
Executive summary:

The substance was tested under GLP for other physico-chemical properties. In the report, the sample is described as a clear yellowish liquid.

Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
17-18 Jan. 2008
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Remarks:
Data comes from the description of the test substance in a study report on other physico-chemical property. No guideline is required according to REACH TGD. The substance is adequately characterised with its purity. Therefore full validation applies.

The substance was tested under GLP for other physico-chemical property. In the report, the sample is described as a clear yellowish liquid.

Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Study period:
30 May - 28 June 2005
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Remarks:
Data comes from the description of the test substance in a study report on other physico-chemical property. No guideline is required according to REACH TGD. However, the test item identification is incomplete (unspecified cis-trans isomery, therefore identified under the generic CAS 17129-06-5). Therefore validation applies with restrictions.
Qualifier:
no guideline required
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Visual observation.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
Certificate from 2004-12-22
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid
Form:
liquid
Colour:
yellow
Executive summary:

The substance was tested under GLP for other physico-chemical property. In the report, the sample is described as a yellow liquid.

Description of key information

Clear yellowish liquid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid

Additional information

Experimental studies were conducted for the determination of other physicochemical properties of the substance. Both Notox reports include fully reliable description of the test sample, a year apart (2007 and 2008), showing no change in appearance. Therefore, both are considered as key data. The description from TNO 2005 was assigned lower reliability, due to incomplete test item identification, and is less detailed ; it is nevertheless consistent with descriptions from key studies and so included as supporting data.
