For workers no DNEL or DMEL can be derived as no specific toxicity effects were observed with the read across from sodium phosphinate and as no acute toxicity was performed. Indeed, in accordance with column 2 of Reach annex VII point 8.5, as phosphinic acid is considered as corrosive/irritant for skin and eyes according to alkaline reserve testing, a study assessing the acute toxicity does not need to be conducted.
Consequently, a qualitative risk assessment for local dermal and eyes effects will be performed to ensure management of the risks.
