Description of key information

According to column two of REACH annex VII, performing of a study is not needed. The substance is a detergent and possesses a strong surface activity. Therefore the experimental determination of the octanol water partition coefficient is not possible, neither using the shaking method nor the HPLC method.
The log Pow concerning the chain lengths of 10, 15 and 17 were estimated to be in the range of -0.18 to 3.26 (Currenta, 2013). However the model describes the O-Na binding as a covalent one, whereas it is actually ionic. Therefore the estimated values can only be regarded as a rough estimation, and the real values of the ionic forms are expected to be lower.
