Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The effects of the test substance on the growth of a unicellular freshwater green algae species, Desmodesmus subspicatus Chodat, were tested in a 72 - hour static test according to the OECD guideline 201 and the EU Method C.3. Eight different concentrations of the substance, ranging from 2.2 - 460 mg/l, a control, without test addition, and nine concetrations of the reference substance ranging from 0.04 -1.6 mg/l were in contact for 72 hour with the algae. The cells were counted at 0 hours and after 24, 48, 72 hours of exposure by measuring the absorption at 440 nm spectrophotometrically. Based on the absorption values and the cell concentration, the percentage inhibition of growth rate, area under the curve (AUC- biomass integral) and yield were estimated. pH was measured at the test inititation and end.

EbC50 (72h, AUC) = 380 mg/l (nominal), EyC50 (72 h, yield) = 230 mg/l (nominal)

ErC50 (72 h, growth rate) > 460 mg/l (nominal), NOEC (72 h, growth rate) = 10 mg/l (nominal), LOEC (72 h, growth rate) = 22 mg/l (nominal)
