Description of key information

Since thiosulfates are inorganic substances, they are not subject to any biodegradation in the aqueous environment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Since thiosulfates are inorganic substances, they will not undergo biodegradation. Instead, being reducing agents, they will rather be subject to oxidation processes mediated by microorganisms, or will be transformed by disproportionation to other sulfur substances (e.g., sulfites and sulfates).
