AH-salt is a salt which does not sublime. Therefore, degradation of AH-salt by photolytic mechanisms in the atmosphere is not expected to be of relevance. In the aqueous environment or with soil moisture, the substance dissociates rapidly to adipic acid (CAS No: 124-04-9) and 1,6-Hexametylenediamine, (CAS No: 124 -09 -4). Therefore, degradation by photolytic processes in soil or water are not expected to be of relevance. In contrast, the main sink for AH-salt will be biodegradation, since AH-salt is readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria). Furthermore, low log Pow as presented in chapter 4.7 (-4.4) markedly shows little potential for bioaccumulation and adsorption of AH-salt. In general, the physico-chemical properties clearly indicate, that the main target for environmental distribution will be water.
