Description of key information

The dynamic viscosity of bis(2-ethylhexyl) peroxydicarbonate was determined to be 40 mPa × s at 0 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The dynamic viscosity of bis(2-ethylhexyl) peroxydicarbonate was tested using a HAAKE Viscotester 550. This device is a Searle viscometer which measures the viscosity and flow behaviour of liquid test materials: A rotational speed is preset and the flow resistance of the sample is measured. The torque required to maintain the set speed is proportional to the viscosity. The operating temperature is measured by Pt100 probes located in the sensor. The viscosity of bis(2-ethylhexyl) peroxydicarbonate was determined to be 40 mPa × s at 0 °C.
