Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Relative density at 20C:
5.7

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The IPCS International Programme on Chemical Safety, Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry and GESTIS reports the density to be

5.7 g/ml at 20 °C. Yaws' Handbook of Physical Properties for Hydrocarbons and Chemicals database reports the density to be 5.72 g/ml at 25 °C. The Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology report the relative density to be 5.72 for cubic crystals and 5.32 for hexagonal crystals at room temperature. Five independent literature sources reports the density in the same range. The value from the IPCS International Programme on Chemical Safety which is a peer reviewed data base was chosen as key value for the density.
