Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the substance was studied in a valid GLP test according to OECD 202. The test was performed under semi-static conditions in closed vessels over a period of 48 hours. The 48-hour EC50 was determined to be 24 mg/L with 95%-confidence limits of 21 and 27 mg/L. The NOEC was determined being 12.5 mg/l (48h) and the LOEC 25 mg/l (48h). This finding is supported by the finding with ethyl cinnamate, a structural homologue of methyl cinnamate with similar physico-chemical properties, having an EC50 value (daphnia magna Straus, 48h) of 15 mg/L.
