Parent compound butyryl chloride (CAS 141-75-3): Significant accumulation in organisms is not to be expected, as the substance has an estimated log Kow of 0.51. However, the assessment of the bioaccumulation potential of the parent compound may be of low relevance, due to the rapid hydrolysis of the acid chloride in aqueous solutions.
Hydrolysis product butyric acid (CAS 107-92-6): The experimental log Kow of 0.79 does not indicate a significant potential for bioaccumulation.
