A volume of 80 mL TYZOR AC 436was filled in the cup of the flash point apparatus and covered with the lid. Calibrated thermometers were inserted in the oil bath and sample cup. A thin cotton thread soaked in refined vegetable oil was inserted in the flame pointer provided in the apparatus. The cup containing the test item to be tested was placed in oil bath. Cover was placed on the cup avoiding any wetting of the sides of the cup. The test flame was ignited and testing was started when the temperature in the sample cup reached 30 °C. Sample was heated at a slow uniform rate and the test flame from the flame pointer was directed in the cup at every 2 °C intervals.

But, neither any blue flame was observed nor any bursting sound was heard till the temperature reached 105 °C. The test item began to boil at 106°C.Therefore, no further heating was continued and the experiment was stopped.

Then the replicate readings were taken fat 5 °C below the temperature at which the test item began to boil cup in preliminary test. Now the test flame was introduced into the sample cup with increase of every 1 °C. The test item began to boil at 105°C in all the three replicates. The experiment was conducted in three replications.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The flash point of TYZOR AC 436 was determined by the Pensky MartensClosed TesterMethod and it was found to be> 105 °C at normal atmospheric pressure 760 mm Hg
Executive summary:
The flash point of TYZOR AC 436 was determined by the Pensky MartensClosed TesterMethod. The sample was placed in the cup of the apparatus and heated at a slow, uniform rate. A small test flame was directed into the cup at regular interval, and the flash point taken as the lowest temperature at which the application of the flame causes the vapour above the sample to ignite with a distinct flash inside the cup. But, neither any blue flame was observed nor any bursting sound was heard till the temperature reached 105 °C. The test item began to boil at 106 °C. Therefore, no further heating was continued and the experiment was stopped. The flash point of TYZOR AC 436 was > 105 °C (the test item began to boil at 105 °C) at normal atmospheric pressure (i.e. 760 mm Hg) in all the three replications.
