DNELs are from the read-across source substance used to support the registration of the target molecule.

The DNELs for workers and the general population are derived from the reproductive/developmental toxicity screening study. The NOAEL (1000 mg/kg/bw/day) based on tissue staining from the 28-day oral toxicity study has been disregarded for the setting of the DNELs for long-term toxicity, as systemic effects were seen in the reproductive/developmental toxicity screening study at much lower doses. These effects were restricted to histopathological changes in the kidney and occurred at all doses in the study, including the lowest dose of 100 mg/kg/bw/day. This dose is the study LOEL for systemic toxicity and has been used for setting the DNELs for systemic toxicity. The setting of the DNELs for reproductive effects is based on the study NOEL for this parameter of 300 mg/kg/bw/day.
