Description of key information

A peer reviewed and an authorative secondary source stated that the test item has a certain skin irritant potential (Yano et al. 2008; US-EPA RED, 2005 ). A peer reviewed secondary source stated that the test item caused transient eye irritation in New Zealand White rabbits. The information obtained from the available literature was not sufficient to address these endpoints and derive a classification.

A peer reviewed and an authorative secondary source stated that the test item has a certain skin irritant potential. More specifically, Yano et al. (2008) stated that the test item caused very slight to well-defined erythema and/or very slight edema. The US-EPA RED (2005) document reports that the test item caused very slight erythema and slight exfoliation.

Moreover, Yano et al. (2008) stated that the test item caused transient eye irritation in New Zealand White rabbits.

However, the information obtained from the available literature was not sufficient to address these endpoints and derive a classification.

Skin irritation  

Dangerous Substance Directive (67/548/EEC)

According to the harmonised Annex I classification the substance is not considered to be classified for skin irritation under Directive 67/548/EEC, as amended for the 31st time in Directive 2009/2/EG.

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

According to the harmonised Annex VI classification the substance is not considered to be classified for skin irritation under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the sixth time in Regulation (EC) No 605/2014.    

Eye irritation  

Dangerous Substance Directive (67/548/EEC)

According to the harmonised Annex I classification the substance is not considered to be classified for eye irritation under Directive 67/548/EEC, as amended for the 31st time in Directive 2009/2/EG.
