Description of key information

Auto-ignition (EU Method A.15): 264 +/- 5 °C at 97.7 - 100.5 kPa

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
269 °C

Additional information

The key value was determined according to EU Method A.15 (Atwal, 2012). The method determines the minimum temperature of the inner surface of an enclosure that will result in ignition of a gas, vapour or liquid injected into the enclosure. After heating, aliquots of the test substance were injected

into the flask and the flask observed for signs of ignition over a 300 second period. This procedure was repeated, varying the sample size, as necessary, until the lowest temperature at which ignition, if any, occurred within 300 seconds of insertion, was determined.
