Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
readily biodegradable
Conclusions:
Substance is readily biodegradable under the conditions used.
Executive summary:

A readily biodegradability test was performed with 2,4 -Pentanedione according to OECD 301C, Ready Biodegradability: Modified MITI Test (I). The concentration of the substance was 100 mg/l whereas the activated sludge concentration was 30 mg/l. The test showed that the substance is considered as readily biodegradable of more than 80% biodegradation after 28 days of exposure.
