Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Executive summary:

In a preliminary GLP study conducted according to OECD Guideline 107 (shake-flask method), the partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) for trisodium EDDS was estimated to be < 2 x 10-5 (log Pow <-4.7) at 20°C.

Additional information

In a preliminary GLP study conducted according to OECD Guideline 107 (shake-flask method), the partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) for trisodium EDDS was estimated to be < 2 x 10-5(log Pow <-4.7) at 20oC (de Vries, 1993a).

In addition, in a GLP study conducted according to OECD Guideline 107 and EU Method A.8 (the shake-flask method), the log Pow (n-octanol/water partition co-efficient) for EDDS acid was estimated to be <-1.4 at 23oC (Gair et al. 2002).

[Data on EDDS free acid is considered relevant to use for understanding the partition coefficient of trisodium EDDS, and is acceptable for using as read-across information.]
