Description of key information

The test substance does not show a potential for explosiveness.

Furthermore this substance is produced and used at the highest level in Europe, transported in ship from outside Europe at various temperature and stoking conditions. Evidences connected to the long experience in handling of the molecule confirm that no explosive properties have never been observed and reported up to now in the usual conditions of production, stock, transport and use.

In conclusion substance can be considered non explosive, according to the CLP Regulation (EC) n. 1272/2008.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006), Annex VII, Column 2, the study does not need to be conducted if: the organic substance or a homogenous mixture of organic substances contains chemical groups associated with explosive properties, but the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500 °C.

Based on the thermal behaviour investigation, the substance is considered to be non Explosive.
