Reference
Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the flash point is only relevant to liquids and low melting point solids
the study does not need to be conducted because decomposition occurred during the melting point study
Reason / purpose:
data waiving: supporting information

Description of key information

According to the EU guideline A.9 the flash-point is the lowest temperature, corrected to a pressure of 101.325 kPa, at which a liquid evolves vapours, under the conditions defined in the test method, in such an amount that a flammable vapour/air mixture is produced in the test vessel. At 101.325 kPa, the test substance is a solid, therefore, the test does not have to be conducted.
