Additional information

Acute toxicity studies on all three trophic levels (algae, daphnia and fish) have been conducted. All studies were done using OECD guidelines and under GLP. Due to the low solubility of the test item water accommodated fractions were used. The stock solution was therefore prepared by saturation of the test media with the test substance. All studies showed no toxic effects within the range of solubility and up to the highest tested concentration of the test item. Therefore, the test substance is with high probability not acutely harmful to aquatic organisms.

Additionally, the toxicity to microorganism has been tested. No inhibitory effects on the respiration could be observed up to the highest tested concentration. The EC50 was calculated to be above 1050 mg/L. Therefore, the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced to biological treatment plants in appropriate low concentrations.
