Description of key information

The test substance is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. It is poorly biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Two studies on ready biodegradability are available. The key study was conducted according to GLP and OECD guideline 301B (Springborn Laboratories, Inc 1998). After 28 d exposure the biodegradation was measured to be 2.48 % based on CO2 evolution. This result is supported by a second study according OECD 301C (Institute of Ecotoxicology. Ltd 2001). After 28 d of exposure a biodegradation of -2 % based on oxygen consumption was measured.

Therefore, the test susbstance is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
