Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The determination was performed according to EEC Directive 92/69, A.17.

During the first main test the burning rates of test item /cellulose mixtures with a test item / cellulose ratio of 50% / 50% and 40% / 60% were found to be higher than the fastest barium nitrate / cellulose mixture containing 50% barium nitrate, indicating oxidizing properties of the test item.

To test whether the result of the first main is a false positive result, a second main test was performed using kieselguhr as an inert material instead of cellulose. The burning rates of the test item/kieselgur mixtures with a test item/kieselgur ratio of 50%/50 % and 40%/60% are higher than the fastest barium nitrate/cellulose mixture and higher than the fastest test item / cellulose mixtures. The results of the repeated testing with kieselguhr confirm, that the result of the first main test is a false positive result.

The test item has no oxidising properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

As the experimental data provided the substance is not considered to be classified as an oxidising material
