Additional information

The water solubility of Ceraphyl 55 was determined in a modified shake flask method using LC-MS (Covance 2006). The data are taken from a GLP-compliant, non-guideline proprietary study following sound scientific principles with adequate description. The results are considered reliable and suitable for use for this endpoint. This is supported by the water solubility of Ceraphyl 55 of <0.019 g/L, determined using the reduced miscibility test in a GLP-compliant study following EC method A6 (Covance 2004). Given that these studies have not yielded an actual solubility value, EPIWIN was run to calculate the possible solubility of the substance. In the QSAR the solubility was determined to be 0.004616 and this value was used as the definitive solubility of the substance.
