Additional information

1-Chloro-1,1-difluoroethane is not readily biodegradable in water under aerobic condition (about 5 % of biodegradation after 28 days) (Duphar 1991). No simulation tests are availbale. The rate constant used in the assessment are:

Degradation in STP

 0 d-1

Biodegradation rate in water

 0 d-1

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the sediment and soil simulation tests don't need to be conducted as the substance is a gas and has a low potential for adsorption (log Kow 2.05); it is expected that direct and indirect exposure of soil and sediment is therefore unlikely.
