Description of key information

The acrylated analogue of the test substance was not readily biodegradable under the conditions of an OECD testing guideline 301F test.
A mean total of 28.1% degradation was achieved by Day 28 and 26.8% by Day 56. Therefore, the test substance was not considered as readily biodegradable.

Additional information

The key study was conducted in accordance with procedures outlined in OECD Guideline 301F (1992). The ready biodegradability of the acrylated analogue was assessed over an extended 56 days period due to the complex chemical nature (UVCB) of the test substance. The test was conducted at a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L.

A total of 10 bioreactors were used: 2 each for test item, blank control, reference item control, emulsifying agent control and one each for toxicity control and abiotic control.

The acrylated analogue was not readily biodegradable under the conditions of the test as it failed to achieve a transition from 10% to 60% degradation in a 10-day window during the 28 days test.

The acrylated analogue was not considered to be inhibitory to the microbial inoculum since the biodegradation observed in the toxicity control bioreactor was not less than 25% occurred within 14 days.

A non-GLP study performed according to OECD 301D testing Guideline by using inert carriers and different inocula reached a mean biodegradation

24.5% by Day 28 and 26.5% by Day 84.
