Description of key information

Quinic acid is short burning and a rapid extinguishing during the preliminary test. In consequence quinic acid can not be considered as flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

According to the study report the flammability of quinic acid was experimentally determined similar to the preliminary testing according to regulation 440/2008. During the test quinic acid shortly burns and rapidly extinguish. Consequently, further testing is not necessary according to regulation 440/2008. Thus, quinic acid does not need to be considered as flammable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test showed that quinic acid shortly burns and rapidly extinguish, so that further testing is not necessary according to regulation 440/2008. Thus, quinic acid is not flammable and does not need to be classified.
