The predicted boiling point of 450.64°C is based on the adapted Stein and Brown method, by EPI Suite v4.11. The estimation by calculation of the boiling point given by the ChemSpider database is 495°C. The calculation of the Marrero and Gani model, using ChemProp, resulted in a boiling point of 423°C. The predicted boiling point of quinidine is in the range from 422 - 495°C. For the boiling point a mean value (456°C) is assumed. Since the boiling point has not been measured, it is not possible to evaluate the estimation by calculation. Furthermore, in the study published by Dobbie, 1879 quinidine was heated in a capillary tube in a paraffin bath and decomposed at 256 -257 °C. Thus, it is possible that quinidine decomposed before reaching the boiling point. This is an indication, that there are no experimental studies on the boiling point available.
