Description of key information

Additional information

The determination of flammability was performed by screening test "burning behaviour" based on Guideline VDI 2263.

- Upon ignition the substance was brief ignition followedby rapid extinction. (FBI at 100°C= 2)

- Based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use of substance the pyrophoric properties and the flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

- Based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use of substance the pyrophoric properties and the flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

The flammability was performed by screening test "burning behaviour" based on Guideline VDI 2263, 1990 and the theoretical assessments of pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are based on section R.7.1.10 of Guidance chapter R.7a of REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.

It can be concluded that the substance is not considered to be classified as a flammable material.

Further justification:

- The substance does not need to be classified as self-reactive substance under the UN-GHS as the heat of decomposition is greater than 300 J/g but the onset temperature is greater than 200°C

- The substance does not need to be classified as self-heating substance under the UN-GHS as the onset temperature is above 220°C by the Grewer Oven test , VDI guideline 2263
