Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
the pile failed to ignite during the 2 minutes that the bunsen flame was applied. The result of the preliminary screening test obviated the need to perform the main test.
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Results of preliminary screening test obviated the need to perform the main test.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. certificate)

Results and discussion

Pyrophoric solids
Test procedure:
ignition time on contact with air
Remarks:
Ignition on contact with air refers to either Pyrophoric solids or Pyrophoric liquids depending on physical state (migrated information).

Any other information on results incl. tables

Material failed to ignite during the 2 minutes that a Bunsen flame was applied. The result of the preliminary screening test obviated the need to perform the main test.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
The test material has been determined to be not highly flammable as it failed to ignite in the preliminary screening test
Executive summary:

In a determination of hazardous physico-chemical properties study (Harlan project number: 0959/0235) the test

material has been determined to be not highly flammable as it failed to ignite in the preliminary screening test. The pile

failed to ignite during the 2 minutes that the Bunsen flame was applied. The result of the preliminary screening test

obviated the need to perform the main test.

The flammability (solids) was determined by measuring the burning rate of test material prepared as a pile of set

dimensions. Testing was conducted using Method A10 Flammability (Solids) of Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008

of 30 May 2008, Part A: Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties.
