Triethoxy(methyl)silane is expected to hydrolyse rapidly (half-life approximately 5.5 hours at 20-25°C) while the silanol hydrolysis product is not readily biodegradable.

Triethoxy(methyl)silane is not classified for the environment according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 based on measured data for the parent substance and appropriate QSAR data for the silanol hydrolysis product, indicating that both are not toxic up to concentrations of 100 mg/l, i.e. lowest E(L)C50 is >100 mg/l.
