Description of key information
No dedicated studies are available for the evaluation of the irritating potential of the test substance. However, no signs of eye, skin or respiratory irritation were observed in several inhalation toxicity studies. These include rabbits exposed by whole body for up to an hour at 100000 ppm (466000 mg/m3), rats exposed nose only for 4 hours up exposure concentrations up to 405000 (1887300 mg/m3), and rats (nose-only) and rabbits (whole body) repeatedly exposed to concentrations as high as 50000 ppm (233000 mg/m3).

Justification for classification or non-classification
Irritation studies are no technically feasible because the substance is a gas at room temperature and ambient pressure. However, no signs of eye, skin or respiratory irritation were observed in several inhalation toxicity studies. These include rabbits exposed by whole body for up to an hour at 100000 ppm (466000 mg/m3), rats exposed nose only for 4 hours up exposure concentrations up to 405000 (1887300 mg/m3), and rats (nose-only) and rabbits (whole body) repeatedly exposed to concentrations as high as 50000 ppm (233000 mg/m3). Therefore classification and labelling for irritation/corrosion is not warranted in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. 1272/2008 and its amendments.
