First-aid measures

INHALATION:

Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.

SKIN CONTACT:

Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.

EYE CONTACT:

Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid.

INGESTION:

Get medical aid. Wash mouth out with water.

Notes to Physician: Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Fire-fighting measures

GENERAL INFORMATION:

As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Contact with other material may cause fire.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:

Use water only!

Accidental release measures

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Use proper personal protective equipment:

EYES:

Wear chemical splash goggles.

SKIN:

Wear appropriate protective gloves to prevent skin exposure.

CLOTHING:

Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.

RESPIRATORS.

Follow the OSHA respirator regulations found in 29 CFR 1910.134 or European Standard EN 149. Use a NIOSH/MSHA or European Standard EN 149 approved respirator if exposure limits are exceeded or if irritation or other symptoms are experienced.

SPILLS/LEAKS:

Vacuum or sweep up material and place into a suitable disposal container. Do not let this chemical enter the environment

Handling and storage

HANDLING:

Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Avoid breathing dust, vapor, mist or gas. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Use only in a chemical fume hood.

STORAGE:

Do not store near combustible materials. Store in a cool, dry place. Store in a tightly closed container.

Exposure controls / personal protection

EXPOSURE LIMITS:

No data available.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS:

Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

1) Respiratory Protection:

In the case of vapour or aerosol formation use a respirator with an approved filter. Recommended respirator types:

- Respirator with a vapour filter (EN 141)

- Respirator with ABEK filter

2) Hand protection:

- Suitable material : Nitrile rubber or neoprene

- Break through time : > 480 min

Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact).

3) Eye protection:

Tightly fitting chjemical safety goggles or face shield with safety glasses.

4) Skin and body protection:

Choose appropriate (partly to full) body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place. A protective apron or suit such as polyethene tyvek or equivalent should be used to minimize exposure from splashes. No special protective equipment besides the one mentioned above required.

Stability and reactivity

STABILITY:

Stable under normal conditions.

MATERIALS TO AVOID:

Strong acids. Strong oxidizing agents.

CONDITIONS TO AVOID:

Exposure to air.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:

Carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Disposal considerations

WASTE DISPOSAL METHODS:

Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations. Absorb and incinerate.
