Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
November 2017 - January 2018
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Principle of test: CIPAC MT 59, "Dry Sieve test".
- Short description of test conditions: The substance was added to the sieve and the lid was closed. The sieve lid and pan was assembled by hand, with the lid touching the lower surface of the metal rods. The sieve was then dropped from a 1 cm height onto a hard rubber sheet. The process was repeated 25 times per sample.
- Parameters analysed / observed: % of substance that passed through the sieve and % that did not.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
sieving
Type of particle tested:
primary particle
Type of distribution:
mass based distribution

Conclusions:
The particle size distribution was reported to be >= 90% of Aryl sulphonate condensate retained on 75 µm sieve.
The particle size distribution was reported to be <=10% of Aryl sulphonate condensate retained on 1003 µm sieve.
Executive summary:

Determination of particle size of Aryl sulphonate condensate was performed according to the CIPAC MT 59, “Dry Sieve Test”. This was determined using the sieve method reporting that the particle size distribution of Aryl sulphonate condensate was >= 90% retained on 75 µm sieve and <=10% retained on 1003 µm sieve.
