Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The key study was conducted in year 1997 according to OECD Guideline 203 and EEC/Annex V C.1. and GLP.
The acute toxicity of the test substance to the fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) was determined in a 96-hour, static, aquatic effects limit test. Analyzed exposure concentration values were determined by gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC/FID). The 96-hour LC50 value for Pimephales promelas was estimated to be > 977.74 mg/L. The 96- hour No-Observed-Effect Concentration (NOEC) value for fathead minnows was determined to be 977.74 mg/L. The minnows in the diluent water controls exhibited normal behavior and appearance throughout the test.
A supporting toxicity to fish study was conducted in year 1981 according to the acute toxicity method.
The acute toxicity of the test substance to fish ( Leuciscus idus melanotus) was determined in a 48 -hour and 96-hour, static, aquatic effects
limit test.
No effects were noted, therefore, the 48 -hour and 96 -hour LC50 value for fish was determined to be >500 mg/L.
