Adsorption / desorption

The adsorption coefficient of bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate was determined by HPLC according to OECD Guideline 121. The received log Koc was 2.4 and refers to the dissociated form of bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate as a pKa value of 1.47 indicates that bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate is mainly present in the dissociated form at environmental relevant pH. This was confirmed by an estimated log Koc of 2.62 for the dissociated form of bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate. As a consequence, bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate has a low sorption potential to soil and sediment.

Henry's Law Constant

Using the QSAR calculation of the Estimation Program Interface (EPI) Suite v 4.11, the Henry's Law Constant of bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphatew as estimated to be 0.00417 Pa*m³/mol at 25°C. Regarding this value bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate is considered as essentially non-volatile from the aqueous phase.
