Description of key information

The QSAR determination of the logarithmic octanol-water partition coefficient for bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate using the model KOWWIN included in the Estimation Program Interface (EPI) Suite v4.11 revealed values of 2.88 for the dissociated form and 6.07 for the non-dissociated form of bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate.

Additional information

The logarithmic octanol-water partition coefficient (log Kow) for bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate was predicted using the QSAR calculation of the Estimation Program Interface (EPI) Suite v 4.11. The log Kow was estimated to be 2.88 for the dissociated form and 6.07 for the non-dissociated form of bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate. The predicted values can be considered reliable yielding a useful result for further assessment.

In addition an experimentally determined log Kow of 2.67 is available and indicates a good correlation to the estimated value for the dissociated form of bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate. Since a pKa value of 1.47 indicates that bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate is mainly present in the dissociated form at environmental relevant pH, the value of 2.88 is considered for assessment.
