- Conclusions:
- Dynamic viscosity is 200.48 mPa s at 40 °C.
- Executive summary:
Viscosity was determined using the capillary viscosimeter method (kinematic viscosity; ASTM D 445; mean of two determinations) at 40°C:
kinematic viscosities of 190.58 and 190.67 mm²/s at 40°C, corresponding to a dynamic viscosity of 200.48 mPa s.
Reference
The dynamic viscosity was calculated from the arithmetic mean of the kinematic viscosity (2 replicates) based on the density of the test item:
Kinematic visosity | Density nD420 | Dynamic Viscosity
1. measurement | 2. measurement
20 °C | Value above the measuring limit.
40 °C | 190.58 mm²/s | 190.67 mm²/s | 1.0517 g/cm³ | 200.48 mPa s |
Description of key information
Dynamic viscosity, calculated from the kinematic viscosity and the density of the substance, according to ASTM D 445: 200.48 mPa s at 40 °C.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Viscosity:
- 200.48 mPa · s (dynamic)
- at the temperature of:
- 40 °C
Additional information
The kinematic viscosity was determined according to ASTM D 455. Two replicate measurements were performed, resulting in a mean kinematic viscosity of 190.63 mm²/s. Based on the density of the substance of 1.0517 g/cm³, the dynamic visosity was determined to be 200.48 mPa s.
Based on the kinematic viscosity of the test item at 40°C of 190.63 mm^2/s, a classification for Aspiration toxicity according to REGULATION (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) is cleary not applicable.
In conclusion, according to REGULATION (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) no classification requirements exist for the submission substance with regard to aspiration toxicity.
