Conclusions:
The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of the test item, log Pow was determined to be 4.4 at 35 °C.
Executive summary:

In the current study the partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) of the test item was determined according to OECD Guideline 117 (2004).

The test was performed with a concentration of 38.1 mg/100 mL of test item in acetonitrile : water (60:40). Samples were analysed via HPLC on a C18 column with a refractive index detection.

Calibration was performed using 7 reference items with known log Pow values. The dead time was determined using thiourea. After calibration, a mixture containing the 7 reference items and thiourea was measured twice, once before and once after the measurement of the test item. The validity criteria were reached.

The experimental value for the log Pow was in relative good agreement with the partition coefficient estimated with KOWWIN software, which reported log Pow of 4.56.

From the two retention times derived for the test item, a mean retention time was calculated from which subsequently the log Pow value was derived.

The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of the test item, log Pow was determined to be 4.4 at 35 °C.

Additional information

One study is available for this endpoint. The partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) of the test item was determined according to OECD Guideline 117.

From the two retention times derived for the test item, a mean retention time was calculated from which subsequently the log Pow value was determined to be 4.4 at 35°C.
